The first edition of the Football 7 World Cup took place in 2018 in the city of Curitiba, Brazil. The biggest competition of the discipline gathered the elite of international football 7 in the race for the title. In the female category, 7 teams attended the tournament. After defeating Colombia, Brazil lifted the trophy. The event was organized in a partnership between Futebol 7 Brazil and Football 7 International.
