Uruguay prepares for Football 7 World Cup
The Uruguayan Soccer Team 7 is preparing for the Football 7 World Cup to be held between December 11 and 15 in Brazil. The country is one of the only to be present in all editions of the four editions of Mundialito de Futebol 7 that was held between the years 2011 and 2014 in Brazil.
The FIF7 World Cup is the evolution of the modality and will also count on the female category. This will be the first time that a female team from the country represents the country in an international event. In the men's team big names are confirmed in search of the world title, among them Matias Cabrera, one of the biggest names in the history of 7 soccer in the country.
"I am very happy to be able to represent my country again and to play the first World Cup of Soccer 7 is a great personal achievement. I was fortunate to also defend Uruguay in the first FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and are unforgettable moments that we carry for life, "said the Uruguayan athlete.
The training is being held at the Carrasco Sports Complex in Montevideo, one of the largest football infrastructures in South America and will host the next League of the Americas in September 2019.
