Figueirense coach Andre Hoepers led the Brazilian team to the 7-a-side football club title in the 2017 season. The excellent job ahead of the team earned him the position of new coach of the Brazilian women's team that will participate in the Copa América in the month of April in the city of Lima (Peru).
The coach receives the highest award of the category at an international level overcoming strong competitors who commanded national teams last season. The Brazilian is the third in the country to receive the title in the same category. In the years 2011 and 2013 the coach of Flamengo and the Brazilian men's team, José Moraes, won the title. In 2014 Mauricio Menezes, coach of the Brazilian men's team, was the winner in the men's category.
