In the first women's championship Football 7, Brazil wins the Intercontinental Cup
For the first time in the history of the sport, women were able to defend the colors of their countries in an international competition. After a 2-2 draw in the normal time, Mexican goalkeeper Judith Diaz closed the goal in the shoot-outs and secured the country in the decision.

Still in the first half Maria Thereza tied for Brazil. In the second stage, Samira and Bruninha turned the game and secured the title for the Brazilian team.
